Yes. The tape chart, check-in, folios and housekeeping keep working on the device and sync when the connection returns. It was designed for exactly this.

VAT is split out on every sale and invoice and reported in one place, so the figures TRA needs already exist. Direct VFD/EFD receipting integration is on our roadmap.

Does it handle a hotel's multiple charges per guest?

Every booking has a folio: room nights, restaurant, minibar, transfers and any extra are posted to it, deposits are recorded against it, and checkout settles the balance in one step.

VAT is split out on every sale and invoice from day one, so the figures TRA filing needs already exist in your reports. Direct VFD (Virtual Fiscal Device (EFD receipting)) submission is on our roadmap; today the records are ready, and switching fiscalised receipts on will be a setting, not a data migration.

NodePoint Retail POS is KSh 1,000 a month or KSh 12,000 a year in Kenya, with unlimited tills, cashiers and branches on one licence — there are no per-terminal or per-user fees to model as you grow. Does the POS work without internet?

Yes. The architecture is offline-first: sales are saved on the device and synced automatically when the connection returns, with receipt numbers in sequence. A power cut or a dead SIM does not close the till, and nothing queued is lost or duplicated.

How does the M-Pesa integration work?

Accepted Answer

It is native, not bolted on. With your Daraja credentials configured, the checkout pushes an STK prompt to the customer's phone; alternatively the cashier keys in the confirmation code from the customer's SMS. Both attach the payment to its sale automatically and reconcile against your statement.

Can it run a multi-branch operation on one account?

Yes — that is the design. Stock is tracked per branch, staff have their own PINs, and reports roll up per branch or across the business, so head office keeps centralized control while each location runs its own tills. One licence covers every location and device, anywhere in Kenya's 47 counties and beyond.

Is NodePoint KRA eTIMS compliant?

Yes. Every sale files with KRA eTIMS automatically through DigiTax, a KRA-approved eTIMS integrator, and the receipt carries KRA's receipt number, signature and QR code. Voids and refunds file credit notes. Activation is per business: enter your KRA PIN and branch in Settings, request activation, and fiscalised receipts switch on — a setting, not a data migration.

None to start. The till runs in the browser on any phone, tablet or computer. Thermal receipt printers, barcode scanners and cash drawers are supported when you want them — so a rollout is a login, not a procurement cycle.
